  • Tuesday 6:10 PM Think housing will improve? Buy truckers, KeyBanc's Todd Fowler suggests. “All the freight required to build a new home has a very positive impact on trucking activity," he says, noting each new residence requires 5-8 truckloads to transport supplies such as lumber, roofing materials and interior furnishings. Fowler likes KNX, WERN and CGI, plus retailers HD and LOW.

  • Tuesday 1:02 PM Shares of Home Depot (HD +1.4%) and Lowe's (LOW +1.3%) trade higher after existing home sales came in strong for April and provide a whisp of optimism after both names have fallen off over the last month. SA author Kraken says the lack of momentum with the pair of home improvement giants is because the stocks were priced for a recovery - an event that hasn't materialized yet.

Home Depot (HD -2.6%) may stand front in center of the trend as witnessed by April's numbers showing slowing growth, with Target (TGT -0.7%) and Sears Holdings (SHLD +3.5%) also at risk of a weather-inspired bounce down.
